Latina Impact Cover Girl Mental Health Campaign, 2010
Through one’s self expression
we learn about feelings and emotions that inspire us to act and advocate for others. These learned behaviors are an integral
part of our moral fiber and the foundation for human inspiration. By providing opportunities of self-expression to young people
today we are empowering them to break the stigma of mental illness. These youngsters are the vehicle to help and support others
facing serious mental illness.
The Mental Health Association, in collaboration
with The Latin American Women’s Club, are proud to lead with educational campaigns to break the stigma of Mental Health.
Latina Impact Cover Girl will
have a 12 month campaign to promote mental health and a healthy lifestyle, that will target teenagers. Latina Impact Cover
Girls will feature young Latinas that will serve as an inspiration to other young teens to maintain healthy life style, education
and integration as part of good mental health.

Por medio de la expresión, aprendemos sobre
los sentimientos y emociones que nos inspira a actuar y abogar por otros. Este comportamiento aprendido, que sirve de inspiración
es parte integral de la fundación de la moral del ser humano. Para romper el estigma de la salud mental en nuestra
juventud, es de suma importancia permitirles que se expresen abiertamente. En un futuro no muy lejano, algunos de ellos llevarán la delantera en el desarrollo de programas, tratamientos e investigación, para aquellos que sufren de una enfermedad
mental.
La Asociación de Salud Mental en Carolinas del Norte trabajando en colaboración con El Club de Mujeres Latinoamericanas,
estamos muy orgullosos de llevar la delantera en el desarrollo de campañas educativas, que sirvan para romper con el estigma de
la salud mental.
Latina Impact Cover Girl es una campaña educativa de doce meses, dirigida a adolescentes y jóvenes Latinas de 15 – 21 años de edad. Latina Impact Cover Girls servirán de inspiración
a otros jóvenes, promoviendo la integración comunitaria, la educación y el mantenimiento de una vida
saludable, como parte de una buena salud mental.
